LUCIDE Conference: "The Future of the Multilingual City"

At the request of colleagues at the LSE, it is our pleasure to advertise this conference, taking place at the LSE 10-11 September 2014. Please direct any questions to the organisers. 

The LUCIDE network – Languages in Urban Communities Integration and Diversity for Europe invites all interested colleagues and stakeholders to the international conference:

“The Future of the Multilingual City”, 10-11 September 2014, London School of Economics & Political Science

Conclusions & visions from the LUCIDE network

Organised around 4 core themes – The Cosmopolis, Landscapes, Identities and Education – speakers will include Joe Lo Bianco from the University of Melbourne, Richard Clément from the Official Languages and Bilingual Institute of Canada, Itesh Sachdev from SOAS, Suzanne Hall from LSE and David Little from Trinity College, Dublin.

A special exhibition will explore the sights and sounds of the multilingual city and there will be examples of related projects around the world.
